Well, here we are. Almost half way through 2021. How the heck did that happen?
I had such a good reading month in May. I read the most amount of books in a single month so far this year with 11 books read. You can check out my Spring Wrap Up where I mention some of the highlights.
Since it was such a good reading month, it was difficult to pick a book as my number one favourite but this one really did stand out. I was recommended this series as good urban fantasy on Kindle Unlimited and I can attest to it’s quality.
Grier is a necromancer. In the lore of this series, necromancers raise vampires not zombies and it’s big business. She is recently released from prison after five years false imprisonment. Her plans to just get on with her life and quickly thwarted by the mysterious reasons she was locked up.

I usually try out a new recipe each month but I was a bit under the weather in May and took a step back from cooking and baking. I did, however, try a new pizza place in Cork that was freaking delicious. Sadly, the delivery driver destroyed my pizza by carrying the box on it’s side but it still tasted amazing and we got refunded the full price of the pizza.
The restaurant is called Fat Badger’s and I’m pretty sure it’s a recent addition to the take-aways on Western Rd. It’s been a really long time since I was actually in town so I’m not sure. This street is in between the university and the night clubs/bars so there are always chippers and pizza places popping up there.
My pizza was the Vege Badger which has tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella, fior di latte mozzarella, mushrooms, artichokes & black olives. It was gorgeous!! We’ll definitely be getting another pizza from there before we leave Cork.

Favourite Journaling Item – Corner Punch
This little guy is one of the best journaling tools I’ve bought. It adds a nice curved corner to pages and cards instantly making them more vintage looking. I probably use it almost as much as a pair of scissors.

Favourite TV Show
I haven’t read the Six of Crows books but I loved their addition to the Shadow and Bone TV series. It added that extra element that was missing in the original trilogy and made for a great TV show.
Shadow and Bone is available on Netflix.
