Synopsis: The inspiring story of a young Swedish schoolgirl who sparked a worldwide revolution, told in a new Who HQ NOW format for trending topics.
When she was just fifteen years old, Greta Thunberg knew she wanted to change the world. With a hand-painted sign that read “School strike for the climate” in Swedish, Greta sat alone on the steps of the Swedish parliament to call for stronger action on climate change. Her one-person strike would soon spark a worldwide movement. This exciting story details the defining moments in Greta’s childhood that led up to her now-famous strike and all the monumental ones that have fueled her revolution since, including being named Time‘s Most Influential Person of the Year in 2019.

Opening Sentence
It was her speech at Davos that turned Greta Thunberg into a superstar. A girl who did not like to speak unless it was absolutely necessary gave a four-minute speech. Her sincerity, passion, and honesty captured the audience. She said that even though there was snow and ice on the ground, the world was on fire. And action was needed.
My Rating: ★★★★★
My Review: What an inspiring young woman! Given her age, I’m sure we haven’t seen the end of just how influential she will be but I’m glad this book was created now. It’s wonderful for her peers to see how they can make changes especially with highly influential people like Trump making damaging statements in the media that may be disheartening.
“Greta doesn’t think well-meaning individuals, just by themselves, can stop the problem. She believes that governments have to work together to create solutions. And they must act quickly. Still, as she has said herself, “You are never too small to make a difference.””
