3 Romancelandia Podcasts You Should Be Listening To

The only thing as fun as reading a book is listening to a podcast about books. Well….maybe. I certainly enjoy listening to podcasts about books especially when they’re not trying to be preachy and just have fun with reading. Here are three of my favourites from the romance genre aka the funnest genre!!

Fated Mates

I challenge you not to add 6 million books to your TBR after listening to this podcast! This show is mainly a read along of Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series (amazing series, oh, my gosh!!) but every second episode is an interstitial where they discuss many different romances on an array of themes.

Fated Mates is a romance novel podcast co-hosted by author Sarah MacLean and romance critic Jen Prokop. Weekly episodes include romance novel read-alongs and discussions of the work of the genre, highlighting the romance novel as a powerful tool in fighting patriarchy…with absolutely no kink shaming.

Learning the Tropes

Part of Frolic’s podcast network, this duo read and discuss a romance novel each week. I really enjoy how they break down each book in a way you maybe wouldn’t normally while reading them. The banter between these two is so fun to listen to.

In this fun celebration of the romance genre, Erin (the Veteran) and Clayton (the “Virgin”) discuss new romance novels every week.

Wicked Wallflowers Club

A must listen if you’re a fan of darker romances but really this podcast is for all fans of the genre. If you’re interested in or are already writing a romance, this one will be great for you. They often have discussions with authors about writing and the industry as well as how they got into the genre.

As featured on Entertainment Weekly’s “Must List”, “this podcast about romance fiction takes the guilt out of “guilty pleasure” with author interviews and deep dives into new releases. It’s a compelling reminder of why the oft-dismissed genre is a real force in cultural conversations about consent and desire.” We release new episodes on Wednesdays with guests who range from the biggest bestselling authors to publicists, reviewers, readers, and other industry professionals.

  1. I’m only a few episodes in and I’ve already added far too many books to my TBR because of Fated Mates. (I know I’m quite late to the game.) I refuse to listen to an episode until I’ve read the featured book so it’s been slow going. If only I had time to read constantly.
