What’s one book you loved that nobody else liked?

Ok, I had to hunt through my Goodreads for this. My ratings seem to line up with average ratings in most cases so I went for something that I gave 5 stars and it’s average was 3.5 (far too low in my opinion). 99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne, her follow up to the hugely successful The Hating Game but nowhere near as loved. I’m not entirely sure why people didn’t like it as much but it might be that they were expecting it to be more like The Hating Game and it wasn’t. Darcy is a tough as nails and totally shameless heroine not often seen in contemporary romance. I couldn’t really relate to her but I found her perspective refreshing and entertaining.

What’s one book you didn’t like that everybody else loved?

I hunted through my Goodreads again for this one and discovered Conspiracy Game by Christine Feehan had the biggest discrepancy between ratings. It has an average rating of 4.37 and it got a measly 1 star from me. I can’t even remember the story to figure out why I rated it so low…

What is the first book you remember purchasing with your own money?

As a teenager I was a huge fan of Marian Keyes. The very first book I bought by her was Sushi for Beginners and I got in my favourite bookstore, The Book Centre in Waterford. That book sparked my love of reading.

What inspired you to start a blog?

As a highly introverted person, I find it difficult to make new friendships. Blogging gave me an opportunity to create friendships with people who have similar interests to me and to just chat about books. I’ve always found it difficult to find people with similar interests to me in real life.

What’s your ideal reading setup?

Couch, pillows, blanket and a cup of tea/wine/coffee. Some relaxing music is good too.

What’s a go-to book you always recommend?

I tend to tailor my recommendations based on who’s asking. My absolute favourite book is Falling for a Dancer by Deirdre Purcell but I doubt it’s something everyone would enjoy.

What are you most excited to read this year?

From the Grave by Kresley Cole the final instalment in The Arcana Chronicles. It’s due out sometime in 2020 but I feel like it might be delayed…
