I’ve never been the biggest fan of Christmas (Halloween girl all the way) and then working in retail totally ruined it for me but I want to like it. In an effort to enjoy the festive season a bit more I decided to check out as many Christmas movies as I could handle on Netflix. I normally avoid these movies like the plague but it’s time to embrace the Christmas cheesiness!!

Holiday in the Wild
I would see this movie as hangover viewing. Something I can watch when I’m half asleep and even if I do fall asleep I won’t really miss anything. It’s a sweet simple story with a subtle tie to Christmas.
Christmas Inheritance
I enjoyed this way more than I expected to. I thought it would be a terrible sappy cheesefest and…. it was but I think it had more substance than I expected. Also, I love Eliza Taylor in The 100.
Let It Snow
I’m not a fan of ensemble movies and for some reason it’s a really popular format for Christmas movies. This was fine. Nothing too exciting and completely predictable. Another good movie to watch while you feel snoozy.
Christmas with the Kranks
Another cheesy movie but I enjoyed it more than I expected to. It had some genuinely funny moments and was overall pretty sweet. Hit the feel-good Christmas movie quota on the nose.
The Christmas Chronicles
This was a lot of fun and at no point did it feel cheesy…. well, ok, it is a Christmas movie so the cheese is a given but it never made me roll my eyes. Not to mention Santa’s jailhouse rock moment which I just LOVED!
A Christmas Prince
I expected this to be awful but I liked it! I expected a wishy washy Princess Diaries redo but it had a bit more going on. It was sweet and easy to watch.
A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding
A bit cheesier than the first movie but still pretty solid.
A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby
This I did not like and I’m sad I put myself through it.
Christmas with a View
This one is based on a book from Harlequin (The Maverick’s Christmas Homecoming) and you can definitely tell. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that, it just has the feel and flow of a romance novel. Definitely one for foodies, I loved all of the food porn 😍 Beyond that it was a pretty basic story. Sweet as sugar but with pretty weak acting.
Klaus
By far the best movie I’ve watched. It’s a wonderful family Christmas movie about Santa’s origin and why we write him letters. It was so sweet and I loved the animation style. I’ll definitely be re-watching this closer to Christmas.
Christmas Wedding Planner
This is another one based on a Harlequin romance (Once Upon a Wedding). It was pretty bad.
A Bad Moms Christmas
This was a fun movie. There were a few too many montages for me but it was very enjoyable. Definitely one for adults only.
The Holiday Calendar
This is my favourite of the cheesy romances. I loved the cast and the magical story and the acting was solid.
The Knight Before Christmas
I wasn’t able to make myself watch the whole thing. No. Just no.
Nativity
I watched this because I love Martin Freeman and he did not let me down. Lots of cute kids and silly fun.
Nativity 2
Since I enjoyed the first one I decided to check out the sequel. David Tennant (who I also love and we get a double dose) stars instead of Martin Freeman in this one and he’s a very worthy replacement. This one’s a bit sillier than the first but still enjoyable. Perfect for family viewing.

My Top 5
- Klaus
- The Christmas Chronicles
- The Holiday Calendar
- Bad Moms Christmas
- Nativity

My first book haul since August 2019, people!!! I did tell myself I wasn’t buying any more books until I read at least half of the books I already own. . . . Yeah, that didn’t happen but I did break my book buying ban. It’s not so bad when they’re second hand books, right?. … Continue reading New Old Books | 2nd Hand Books Haul

Photography Portfolio | January Highlights
Hi everyone, so still life and interior photography are fairly big interests of mine that I wasn’t really sure what to do with other than sharing photos on Instagram. Then I added some photos to Unsplash for people to use on their blogs/commercial projects/ whatever they want for free. The reaction I got there was … Continue reading Photography Portfolio | January Highlights

I’ve been doing a Netflix binge of Christmas films myself. The Christmas Baby looked sooo bad. I’m sorry you had to suffer. The Holiday Calendar is next on my list, so I’m glad to hear that it’s decent. I may have to check out The Christmas Chronicles.
