It’s tag time again and it’s time for that tag that always does the rounds in November and December, The End of the Year Tag. It’s a great one to wrap up the year and have a think about plans for the new year. If you’d like to do the tag, consider yourself tagged and please post a link to your post below so I can check out your answers. Happy End of the Year!!
Are there any books you’ve started this year that you need to finish?
I’m a little ashamed to say there are four books on my slowly reading shelf. I made this shelf on Goodreads for books that I started reading and then kind of lost interest in but was still enjoying… Basically, I wasn’t in the mood to read them at the time but still want to read them.
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
I’m only about 80 pages away from finishing this book but I read a spoiler somewhere and haven’t been bothered with reading the ending.
The Argonauts by Maggie Nelson
I’m in no hurry to finish this one even though it’s really short. I like to read some books really slowly and this is one of those.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Illustrated Edition
I’m so familiar with this story and I don’t really like this one but I really want to read the illustrated editions not just flip through the pages. So, yeah, it’s taking me ages to get through.
Siren’s Song by Karen Chance
This is the first time I haven’t devoured a book by Karen Chance! AND it’s Pritkin’s book which makes it even weirder! I have no idea why but I just haven’t been feeling this.
Do you have an autumnal/winter book to transition into the end of the year?
I recently made a list of Christmas books on Scribd to read in December. It’s mostly romances cause I like something easy going and feel good during this busy time. Check out the list here.

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?
Shatter the Earth by Karen Chance
The next instalment in the Cassie Palmer series was due out sometime in December but it has been pushed to January. I was expecting this happen so I’m not really disappointed…..too much. It’s the 10th book and I loved the previous one so I’m excited for this.
What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
I mentioned these in my December TBR along with a few others but these are the ones I really want to read.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
I’m behind the hype with this one but I’ve heard it’s really good.
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
A little behind the hype again. I’ve heard this is even better than the first book so I’m excited to read it.
Skinwalker by Faith Hunter
A popular urban fantasy series I somehow haven’t started yet!
Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?
I expect at least one of the above books to be really good and could easily become a favourite. I’m leaning towards Skinwalker being a favourite at the moment because it’s so popular with urban fantasy fans and I am a big urban fantasy fan.
Have you already started making reading plans for 2020?
My only solid plan so far is to read 80 – 90 books. I would like to read more print books than I did this year and fit in more classics and historical fiction.
