Hello everyone, my posting schedule is all over the place at the moment cause of real life stuff but we’ll be back to normal soon (hopefully). I had a week of family stuff and now I’m having a week of work being done on my house so everything is just crazy!
While I’m trying to get things back to normal, please enjoy this book tag about cake π°

I freaking LOVE cake!! I really need to go get some cake after doing this tag.

Self-raising flour: a book that started slow then picked up

I found A Court of Thorns and Roses to be quite slow for a good portion of the book but it really picked up steam somewhere after halfway. I found a lot of her time spent wandering around the castle boring but it was all revealed to be important later on in the book. It’s nice to get a pay-off like that.
Butter: a book with a really rich, intense plot

This whole series is pretty intense (as with a lot of Kresley’s books) but I’m going to go with Endless Knight. Poison Princess got me interested in the series and then Endless Knight got me invested in the series.
Eggs: a book you had reservations about but actually really enjoyed

For whatever reason, I kept putting off Shadow and Bone. There’s just something about fantasy YA that make’s me weary. I absolutely loved this book once I read it though and I’m excited to check out the show on Netflix when it starts.
Sugar: a sweet book

I could have chosen a bunch of contemporary romances for this one but I’ll go with the last one I read, The Unhoneymooners. It’s a sweet and simple hate to love story, perfect for some easy going reading.
Icing: a book that included all the things you enjoy in a book

Most of the books in this series tick all the boxes for me but I’ll mention Brave the Tempest for now. It has action β magic β paranormal creatures β a fast-paced plot β mystery β a complicated love story β kick-ass heroine β swoon-worthy male lead β I just love it!
Sprinkles: a book or series that you return to for a pick-me-up when youβre feeling down

Tessa Dare is great for these kinds of books but my favourite is Romancing the Duke. It’s sweet yet saucy and such fun to read.
Cherry on top: your favourite book of the year
So far this year I’ve read 86 books, 38 of which were 5 star reads. I need more time to narrow down a favourite!

Hmm… I’ve bailed on A Court of Thorns and Rose’s twice now. It’s encouraging to hear someone say it starts slow, but picks up.

I bailed on it once before as well but forced myself to push through the 2nd time. I ended up really enjoying it.
