I wasn’t tagged by anyone for this (as far I know…) but I came across it on A Redhead’s Rambling.
First of all, I want to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that your new years will be wonderful as well.
On to the questions…
Are there any books you’ve started this year that you need to finish?
Sadly there are several books I need to finish from this year. Some I’m not pushed about but others I really do want to finish. Women Who Run With the Wolves I started reading in March (yes March!). The way this book is written is ideal for picking up and putting down, reading a little bit whenever you feel like. The next book I need to finish is Old Ways Old Secrets: Pagan Ireland which can be read in a similar way. Both are very interesting books and I am really enjoying them I just don’t feel any urgency to finish them.
Do you have an autumnal/winter book to transition into the end of the year?
I have a few books picked out to transition into the new year and spring. My Cosy Winter Reading list has all of them. I think I’m most excited to read Once Upon a Christmas Eve by Elizabeth Hoyt and Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding.
Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?
The books I’m waiting for are due for release in 2018. I read my 2017 releases which were admittedly few since I tend to read series and I’m behind on most of them. I’m waiting for The Dresden Files #16 and The Others #6. Two fantastic urban fantasy series, I highly recommend both of them.
What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
Before the end of December, I really want to read the two Christmas books I picked out on my Cosy Winter Reading List and Bridget Jones’s Diary. I’m not sure I’ll manage to read Bridget Jones before the end of the year but definitely the Christmas ones.
Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?
No, I don’t so…. Mostly because the year is just over and I only have time for the short Christmas books I have picked out. I’m not really expecting to be blown away by either of those but I’m sure they will be enjoyable.
Have you already started making reading plans for 2018?
My only plan for 2018 is to read 100 books. So far this year I’ve read 150 (check out my Goodreads Challenge here) which is amazing but I want to set a smaller goal for next year. I want to spend a bit more time on other things not just reading.
As always if you want to do this tag too then go ahead 🙂
All of the books mentioned are available from Book Depository with free worldwide shipping.
150 books? G, that’s amazing! I’m still struggling to get 50… 😋 Hope you have a fantastic new year! 🤗

I’m also hoping for the next Dresden book in 2018. It’s been a while since the last one and Butcher’s new series didn’t really do anything for me. I’ve never read The Others, though. I’ll have to check it out. Who’s the author?

Anne Bishop writes The Others. It’s very good series, a bit different to other urban fantasy series.
