Hello people, I have been under the weather the past few days so today’s post is a bit rushed. No harm, book tags are just a bit of fun anyway 🙂 I have no idea where I found this tag or who wrote it originally, sorry person…
“You’re a Mean One Mr Grinch”: Name a villainous character you couldn’t help but love.
Lothaire from Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series. Kind of a cheat answer cause he’s not exactly a baddie but he certainly is villainous. He makes up for it all in his own book but throughout the series, he gets up to quite a bit of mischief.
“All I Want for Christmas is You”: Which book do you most hope to see under your Christmas tree?
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban illustrated edition. Got the first two so need the next one. I would love the illustrated editions of A History of Magic and Fantastic Beasts as well.
“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”: Name a character that overcomes major obstacles and learns to believe in themselves.
Cassie Palmer from Karen Chance’s Cassie Palmer series. That girl has been put through the ringer and is finally fighting back.
“Santa Claus is Coming to Town”: a) Which character do you think would be on the top of the naughty list?
b) Which character do you think would be at the top of the nice list?
A) I honestly can not think of an answer for this one. Pretty much every villain would go here. B) I love reading about protagonists that are flawed so can’t really think of anyone for this either…
“Frosty the Snowman”: Which book just melts your heart.
Falling for a Dancer by Deirdre Purcell. Elizabeth has such a tough time but she soldiers on through it all only fucking up a few times. One of my absolute favourite books. There was a TV mini-series of it in the late nineties starring Colin Farrell that’s worth checking out. You’ll probably be able to find it on YouTube.
“Feliz Navidad”: Choose a book that takes place in a country other than your own.
Ha! Most of them. I’m going to go with my favourite series, Cassie Palmer series by Karen Chance. It’s set mostly in Las Vegas in the US.
“It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”: Which holiday-themed book do you use to spread the Christmas joy?
This year is the first time I’m actually making an attempt to read a holiday book. I read a short story set during Christmas last year for a challenge but wasn’t really impressed with it. I’m really excited to read my Winter Reading List which has two Christmas books on it.
“Sleigh Ride”: Which fictional character would you choose to spend the holidays with (doesn’t have to be a love interest!)
I would so love to spend Christmas in the Burrow with the Weasleys. It looks like the cosiest place on earth.
“Baby it’s Cold Outside”: Which book that you didn’t like would you sacrifice to a fire to warm yourself up in the cold?
I am Legend by Richard Matheson. Hated it.
“Do you hear what I hear”: Which book do you think everyone should read?
We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. A transcription of her TED talk concerning feminism in the modern world.
As always, if you want to do this then consider yourself tagged 🙂 Happy Christmas! (or whatever you celebrate…happy Thursday if you celebrate nothing..)
